Elders Day
We are excited to announce the upcoming Elders Day at First Baptist Church, a special event dedicated to honoring and celebrating our cherished members who are in their golden years. This year, we are recognizing and applauding the remarkable lives and contributions of our Septuagenarians (70-79), Octogenarians (80-89), Nonagenarians (90-99), and Centenarians (100+).
Join us for our Annual Elders Day Celebration on Sunday, February 15, 2026, as we gather in worship to honor the wisdom, faith, and legacy of our elders. We are excited to welcome Dr. Angelo V. Chatmon, Senior Pastor of Pilgrim Journey Baptist Church in Richmond, Virginia, as our guest preacher. This special service will be a time of gratitude, reflection, and praise as we celebrate God’s faithfulness through generations.
In addition to our Elders Day worship service, we invite our elders to join us for Saturday Funday and our Lunch & Learn as part of a weekend filled with fellowship, celebration, and care. Read more below.
Saturday Funday: Saturday, February 14, 2026, 11am - 2pm
We are kicking off Elders Day weekend with Saturday Funday: Faith, Fellowship & Timeless Music! Join us for a joyful afternoon filled with laughter, connection, and classic tunes that span generations. Come dressed in your favorite attire from the 1970s or as a Motown legend as we celebrate the music, style, and spirit that helped shape our stories. This is a time to relax, reminisce, and enjoy fellowship together.
Lunch & Learn: Seasoned Souls & Healthy Hearts: Thursday, February, 12, 2026, 11am - 2pm
We invite our Elders to attend Lunch & Learn: Seasoned Souls & Healthy Hearts, a special gathering focused on heart health, nutrition, and overall wellness. This informative and engaging session will provide practical insights while fostering meaningful conversation and fellowship. Come enjoy a nourishing lunch and learn how to care for the bodies God has blessed us with, mind, body, and spirit.
