Mrs. Mary Herndon

Church Office Administrator
Within every institution there are those who are marvelously proficient at "connecting the dots." Here at 112, that person is Mrs. Mary Herndon. Mary brings 30 years of experience as an Administrative Assistant to the CEO of Sentara Obici Hospital to the administrative ministry of 112.

Along w/her certification in Secretarial Science, Mary is the embodiment of a calming grace and a compassionate heart for God's people. She and her husband, James are the proud parents of three children & five grandchildren.

Rev. Dr. William Morris

Pastor of Congregational Care
The ministry of "soul care" is one of the most vital expressions of our Lord's ministry. Having served as a beloved chaplain with Sentara Obici Hospital, Pastor Morris leads the ministry of "soul care" here at 112. A graduate of Norfolk State University, Kleen College, Old Dominion University, and Roanoke Theological Seminary, Dr. Morris served his country in the U.S. Army and is a Vietnam Veteran.  

He and his wife, Mildred, are the parents of three sons.  In his spare time, Dr. Morris enjoys reading a good book and spending time with his family. In his spare time, Pastor Morris enjoys reading a good book and spending time with family.

Rev. George Smith

Assistant Pastor
Pastor Smith's love of God & the people of God is as evident in his booming voice as it is in the tender demeanor of his spirit. A trusted, truthful, & tried testimony of God's grace, Pastor Smith is an invaluable element within the ministry of First Baptist Mahan & the surrounding 112 community. He is a veteran of the U.S. Army and a graduate of Virginia Theological Seminary & College.  He and his wife, Ann, are the parents of one daughter.  In his spare time, Pastor Smith enjoys fishing & watching westerns.

Ms. Tabatha Ford

Team Lead, Youth Ministry
Tabatha's love of God is genuinely demonstrated in her heart for the youth of the church.  She actively volunteers as a Troop Leader for the Girl Scouts of the Colonial Coast & other community endeavors.  Tabatha has a deep passion for empowering youth in their spiritual growth and maturity in Christ.

She received her bachelor’s degree in Social Science from University of Virginia and received her MBA from Saint Leo University.  Her hobbies include traveling, spending time w/family and friends, and she is a huge sports fan. Tabatha is the proud mother of one daughter, Ms. Ayanna Harris.

Ms. Savannah Coker

Team Lead, Youth Adult Ministry
Savannah has been a member of First Baptist since childhood.  She has served in various ministries such as Mass Choir, Usher ministry, Media ministry, Youth Workers and Young Adult ministry.  Savannah is uniquely anointed with helping to provide voice and advocacy from young adults throughout the Christian community.  She attended Virginia Union University and is employed with the Department of Corrections.  Savannah is the mother of a beautiful daughter, Miss Peyton Marie.

Mr. Daniel Bullock, Jr.

Director of Music
For over 40 years, Daniel has glorified God via the Ministry of Music. His anointing & giftedness has led him to serve as a musician, a Minister of Music, & a Director of Music all throughout Virginia.

Daniel has a tremendous passion for teaching how the ministry of song can be a transformative platform for persons who desire to experience God at a deeper level.

He believes that his mission is to help persons better experience this transformation through the joy of glorifying God through music.

Mr. Kenneth Warren

Minister of Music
From an early age, Kenneth's love for music was evident and it wasn't long before it grew into a personal passion for worshipping God.  Growing up in an anointed musical family, his adoration for music was honed while attending weekly rehearsals with his mother as she sang in the choir. During his tenure as a saxophonist w/the Jazz Ensemble of Norfolk State University, Kenneth was exposed to a variety of music genres that he creatively blends throughout the worship experience with precision, passion, and poise.

Mrs. Valerie Brown

Dean of Children's Church
With the ringing of her brass school bell, Valerie Harding Brown begins the assembly of Children's Church students each 1st & 3rd Sunday where she is a co-leader.

Valerie is a retired school administrator, Portsmouth City Public Schools, where she served 30 years. She was also an adjunct instructor at Norfolk State University Evening College. Valerie and her husband, James, are Sunday School teachers at 112 and they both enjoy supporting youth and their academic endeavors.  She and her husband are the proud parents of three adult children and two granddaughters.

Mrs. Crystal Satchell

Assistant Dean of Children's Church
Crystal is a tremendous vanguard for both the spiritual & practical wellbeing of children. 

She is a graduate of ODU w/a bachelor's degree in Business Administration w/an emphasis in Human Resources. 
She also obtained her Master of Business Administration from Averett University in 2007.
 
Currently a Compliance Officer for Portsmouth Public Schools, Crystal is passionate advocate of Human Resources in public school systems. 

She and her husband, Marwin are the proud parents of three beautiful children: Alicia, Corbin, & Maya.
